Tanzania 1, Senegal 0

Saturday's entertaiment, besides watching Borat, involved packing into the the Mwanza football stadium to watch the Tanzania National team take down the much higher ranked Senegal National team. The place was packed, even the president was there.

Entertainment during half time included two guys on bikes covered in green and blue streamers, and a contortionist (sp). The little guy could bend himself into all sorts of shapes, smoke a cigarette with a foot behind his head and he did impressions of a body builder and a fat man with a cellphnoe that were amazing.

I loved it. The crowd was nuts, drums the whole time and a few "oleee-ole-ole-ole oleee-olee" felt like home, or on a bus after a Yale Med party.

Food: food here is actually pretty good, best cucumbers and oranges i've had in a while. Dinner last night was goat soop with ugali (which is just like tuo (two-oh) if you've been to Nigeria. The goat was tasty and the beer his is great, so really I could stomach almost anything.

In terms of scents, there are some strong ones here, but nothing like emptying the black water in Vermont last weekend, thanks again to Greg who got me through.

much love, more to come...
