Non-profits, US-AID and pretty good Indian food

Went out to dinner last night with Nzuki, his amazing wife Makurdi. Went to Tilapia, where all the ex-patriots in town congregate. Tin and gold miners from Australia and New Zeeland, a young woman from Denmark who runs two nightclubs in town, a bunch of bright red germans on the safari circuit and a few idealistic humanitarian aid workers too, and a few doctors.

Our hosts for dinner were from Tanzania and Zenya and had lived in Washington DC for a few years. Now back in Tanzania running the Touch foundation, which partnered with McKinsey consulting, and $100 million to double the number of doctors in Tanzania in 10 years. They are funding every apllicant for and MD or in the allied health proffesions at Bugando Univ of Health Sciences on grants. Pretty amazing, and they built this sweet guesthouse, which has wifi, that i'm chilling in right now.
