11 Years in eXile - Can the Expat Paper Be Saved?

After a "special audit" of their editorial content, Mark Ames, editor of The Exile, has announced the paper is folding.
The bi-weekly free paper for English-speaking expats in Moscow has survived beatings, death threats, police intimidation, sexually transmitted diseases, censorship, and calls for Congressional investigations.  All of these were the results of pranks that include a forged letter from US Congressmen accusing Russian officials of stealing IMF money and throwing a pie allegedly made from horse semen in the face of the NY Times Moscow bureau chief.  Throughout their history, they remained committed to exposing corruption and hypocrisy and having a good time.

Although earlier stories on the site today said the paper was done, they are attempting a last ditch fundraising effort.
