The beaches of the North

When we think of Peru the first thing that comes to most people's minds are the mountains and Macchu Pichu. Yes the mighty Andes are beautiful, but just below them lie some amazing beaches... Kilometers of beautiful sandy coast with world class waves, palm trees, and great food! I was there last week and this time only a week vacation with my girlfriend was possible. We stayed in the town of Mancora for a night but I wouldn't recommend it. Head for the less crowded beaches up north in Punta Sal or Zorritos or walk (or take a moto taxi) to the incredible beaches south of Mancora. There are no budget hostels in this area but if you can splurge a couple of days this is the place to do so! Make sure you eat a fresh Ceviche and lots of mangoes! |
