Hardanger Fjord: Day Three

By Christine  |  Location: Norway  |  08/24/07

Sore from yesterday's hike, we take it easy and decide to see the town. We go to Baroniet Rosendal (www.baroniet.no) a manor built in 1665 for a Danish nobleman and his wife, Karen Mowat, the wealthiest woman in Norway at that time. You can spend an entire afternoon there walking the well-manicured gardens and lunching at the cafe. We went back to the cottage for Owen's nap; Josh and Siv Jane stayed behind and took several pictures with their new digital camera. Other than that, not much to report... We went to a beach then had a really good dinner of grilled smoked pork chops, shared bread crumbs with the resident mouse, and played "51" (a Spanish card game) until it was time for bed.
