One a Day

So I already keep a long-winded blog over here but I realize my long ass rambling isn't quite suited to the Twitter generation. So here's the plan: I'm going to post once a day to this with something interesting to do in my adoptive hometown of Prague, Czech Republic. These will not be "hawt club" posts or "best beer" posts, they will be posts particular to people who figure they can grope and fidget on their own map, but might want something slightly out of the ordinary to pass the time with. Sometimes I'm not in Prague, so in that case I will post something I hope is interesting from wherever I happen to be. Sometimes I don't have the internets in my grasps, so in that case I won't post anything until I get back to the internets. Please amuse yourself!

Here goes:

#1
Prague

The quality of the air in Prague is matched only by the quality of the vegetables. Until the mid 90's, as a matter of fact, no vegetable was permitted into the country aside from mashed spinach, potato and garlic. Yes, garlic counts, as it's not a protein product. These days, you can get a fresh breath by visiting one of the many Vietnamese markets thriving all over the city. The Czech Republic had a special arrangement with Vietnam dating back to the good old days whereby the Vietnamese emigrants no other nation wanted could come here to study and work. These folks have a good thing going. My favorite is a 2 minute walk from the Hradcanska metro station on Dejvicka street. Enter the passage next to the passably edible offerings of the indian restaurant "Haveli" and find yourself in greengrocer heaven!
