Back in Mompos

So, I am back in mompos after a six week job leading youngsters from the UK and US through Bolivia and Peru. Part of my journey can be found on MatadorTrips on my first piece for them - How To Trek the Inca Trail . The trip itself was beset with problems. On the Taquesi trail in Bolivia after just making the pass at 4600m one student developed epilepsy. Later in Cusco another of my keep had to be sent to sea level when he showed the beginnings of a High Altitude Pulmonery Edema. Aside from this it was great to be back on the road for a bit and get some rafting, trekking and climbing under my belt once again.

Mompos is coming along well, La Casa Amarilla is going from strength to strength although being impatient I would like to see it grow faster. At some point I'll put up some more photos to show our incredible progress. The garden actually resembles a garden and not a swathe of dusty wasteland. The kitchen has been retiled and we are getting favourable reviews from all who come this way.

I shall be posting more frequently over June and July. Glad to be back!
