The Torontonian Hot Dog

I have never been a hot dog fan. Nevertheless, living in Toronto, I had to try the Torontonian Hot Dog, generously available at every major intersection. It smells welcoming, it looks appetizing, how can one resist?

We have many hot dog stands in Toronto, offering this freshly grilled piece of sausage, be it Italian, Polish, German, or a simple Canadian chicken sausage, they all smell delicious. To top it off, you may add free toppings offered on the side: mustard, mayo, ketchup, pickles, hot peppers, and horse radish- to name a few.

At some point in time, you could even ask for fried onions, but that has been removed due to health safety reasons. Having traveled through Europe, I must say, Toronto has some of the most creative and delicious hot dogs one can have. Sure it comes with all the fat and calories included, however, don’t leave Toronto without savouring this greasy indulgence.

France is known for its boiled sausage in a baguette with a hint of ketchup and the UK is known for its flavourfully fried onions, but Toronto has become famous for the best Hot Dog in the world, (or at least that’s the rumour going around).

Try it and judge it for yourself!
