On Sunday I walked into my bathroom and noticed a shard of sunlight streaming from the window into the centre of the room. My eyes focussed, with intense concentration, into the light and I could see lots of filaments, particles, white and glittering, floating in the air. I wondered why they seemed immune to gravity as some of them floated up, some were suspended in mid air and some were moving all around, others were descending. Perhaps my movement into the room disturbed them. As my eye moved away from the light source I could still see them, the whole room was filled with these tiny gleaming particles, millions of them. I thought to myself how amazing it was to see these little filaments, to notice them for the first time. I am sure they have always been there in the air, all around us. We must breathe them in as we walk along but we pay no mind to them.  I wondered how much goes unnoticed in life just because we don’t see it. Do we only see what we believe exists, what we believe to be real? I reflected on those times when I suddenly became aware of a new concept or even a new car and then suddenly I could see it everywhere because it was now part of my mind’s search engine. But how much do we filter out? If we are not searching for something in particular, does the mind discard it from our field of awareness and therefore significant things remain unseen? During these past few years I have noticed that when we open our awareness, when we suspend our belief systems for a moment and allow possibility to enter, we then begin to see more, our reality starts to change, we can feel our awareness expand to include new things. Sometimes I needed to tell myself I wasn’t saying ‘yes’ to something or that I believed it yet, if my mind was struggling to accept an idea, but I simply wanted to keep an open mind, to listen, to see, to test things out and then I could make an assessment. Now, over time, gradually, I believe in so many more things than I thought possible and I am seeing life through different eyes. I have asked to see more clearly, to open my Spiritual eyes, to see without filters and mind projections and it's working!     

Today I started to think about Truth. If our realities are so subjective according to what we filter in and out, then my Truth is probably very different from yours. But does it matter? If I see something, a shape, a Being, a colour and you see something else, it is still real to me and your field of awareness is still true to you. Does it matter if we don’t see the same things? Do I need to try and convince you to see what I see or is it enough that I see it and believe in what I see, it is my reality? This made me wonder, in these times when some parts of the world are still in conflict I wonder “why?” Surely Truth, Absolute Truth, can stand on its own. Surely Truth does not need you or me to defend it, define it or even describe it. Truth just IS. As I started to think about Truth, I then started to think about Religion in the same way. Surely The Creator, in whatever form or name or label we choose, surely The Creator of All, of the Universe, of Light, of Peace, of Love of Existence and all Life, surely This Powerful Energy Source does not need us to fight over it or defend it or define it. It makes no sense. It just IS. It will continue to BE whether we are here or not. And aren’t we all part of the Divine Light? I wonder, is it possible for us to welcome and embrace all the definitions, all the inflections, all the nuances that make up the Whole and see how we really are all One. Do we really need to reject our differences, does it not make more sense to embrace and cherish our differences because they all make up who we are?

I thought about this Earth, which has been in existence long before we arrived and how we then decided to carve it up, place borders and boundaries here and there. Once again I wonder “why?” Why have we tried so hard to place fences between us and take this piece as “mine”. I wonder if one day we can look at this Earth, this Life, this Energy, this Source, this Light, this Love, this Power, this Divinity, this Existence, this Consciousness and see it all as One, as Us and celebrate in the shared evolution of consciousness, of which we have all been part, of which we are all aware at our core. Is this the next step for us? As we all start to become more aware of who we really are, as we sense more of our Divine Spirit and Light and Power, as we start to question some of our long held beliefs and relax, we will notice our fields of awareness expand and we will see a different reality, through our Spiritual eyes. It is happening now. Have you noticed flickering light out the corner of your eye? Have you seen shimmering light on the walls but thought you were imaging it? Do you sometimes see light around people, as if they are glowing, radiant? Do you look across the ocean and see light dancing across the water? Are you becoming more aware of your own Being, your own Truth, who you are and why you are here in the bigger scheme of things ? These are indeed times of beautiful Golden Light and we are Beings of Light. As we notice messages coming to us through books and movies and conversations, our fields of awareness expand. I watched Kung-Fu Panda again a few days ago and smiled as the wise Turtle said to Shifu “Let go of the Illusion of Control”. My jaw dropped the first time I heard it as I had been pondering over this idea that our reality is an illusion, just a hologram, a projection of the mind. The movie also says there is no secret ingredient in life, something is special because we BELIEVE it is special. As we all start to Believe in Truth and our own Light and our Divine Essence and our Creativity and Love and our Power to manifest we will See the magic and miracles that abound in life, we will see a New Reality. We will Believe Existence is Special and See it is so.
