Our Mission: Fundación de Desarollo IndÃgena de Pastaza (FUNDECOIPA) was created in December 2005. It is an indigenous non-profit NGO with its head office in the Shuar community Arutam in the Pastaza province of Ecuador.
FUNDECOIPA was founded as a response to the social and economical difficulties faced by its members and neighbouring communities. The objective of FUNDECOIPA is to create community development in the indigenous communities of Pastaza through culturally founded and sustainable use of the biological resources.
The foundation is managing a 2710 hectare reserve and provides volunteer, tourism and research opportunities within the reserve and neighbouring communities.
