Type of Org: Cornerstone is a local organization founded in San Ignacio on 18th July, 1999. We are registerd in Belize as a nonprofit organization with the Solicitor General's office and as a Non-Governmental Organization with the Ministry of Human Development
Our Mission: Cornerstone Foundation was
established to inspire respect for self, culture, and the environment.
* Our goal is to help people to help themselves, and to help organizations and social service offices meet their goals within our community.
* We aim to be an active link in the gathering and distributing of information and resources.
* We strive to be involved in the development and empowerment of our community.
What We Do: Our work involves social development (especially with women and youth), HIV/AIDS prevention and health support services, and relief & aid to children and elders. Although mostly a community organization, some of our projects are implemented on a national basis.. We support the development of responsible tourism.
