Our Mission:

help the underprivileged and oppressed poor, who are conveniently ignored by aid organisations and society, to carve out an identity for themselves.

What We Do:

We raise funds for educational allowances to street children. We build schools, re-build crumbling homes and support traditional, cultural institutions, which are on the brink of extinction. We also provide remote communities with solar panels, warm clothes, eye glasses and basic food items.
My projects start where everyone else leaves off. Projects are mainly in sensitive areas of the world, where help is greatly needed but not necessarily appreciated by local authorities. Aid organisations shy away and so do individual donors - they leave for safer places, where governments appreciate their help. For this reason, I cannot mention specific locations of projects, but please contact us with any questions you may have. Asian Insights will not get involved in politics or human rights activism anywhere. We want our help to reach those in greatest need!

How You Can Help:

As all projects are in very sensitive areas as mentioned above, we cannot be seen to actually be giving any help to local individuals or meet with them in public. That might not only put ourselves into danger, but more importantly the people we try to help. Therefore, the best way for anyone to 'help' is by volunteering to raise funds and help create awareness about the projects without publicly announcing them in detail. If your strength is in building websites (incl. Flash), you could be of great help in re-designing our website. Please appreciate that Asian Insights is not a place for human rights activists. It is of extreme importance that none of our work or material is being used to support any kind of political, human rights etc. activist agenda.

Featured Project:

We are trying to build a school for street children in a very sensitive Asian city, therefore cannot give any particulars about the exact location (although reading between the lines on asianinsights.org and really looking at the photographs will help you guess correctly). This limitation has, of course, created a huge obstacle for fundraising. The children will beg in the streets and move on to drugs and prostitution until we can build this school. At this moment two plywood 'shacks' are the classrooms and they are absolutely packed with little ones sitting on the floor, writing on their laps. It breaks my heart to see that many more street children are getting older every year and I still cannot fund this school. I cannot openly advertise this project, because of its sensitive nature. Please check out my website www.asianinsights.org under 'projects'. We are in dire need of funding - please help! To date we have collected roughly $ 3,500 but need a total of about $ 30,000 to build 3 more classrooms (incl. wooden desks and chairs). The building site is there and it is small therefore we can only build upwards, which explains the high costs.
