I am a professional freelance travel photographer and just made a website profile with some of my images. I would like to now if Matador can block the right click function or put some type of Text under the photos as they are COPYRIGHTED and can not be used in any way without the permission of the photographer. It is very important to protect our work in these types of websites and communities. I travel
many thousands of miles and spend many thousands of dollars for my photos. Thanks aladytraveler, Janie Mertz

Hi Janie,

I'm looking in to this now. We'll definitely get an option on there where you can mark photos All Rights Reserved. I'll let you know as soon as it's up.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I agree that it's an important precaution.

Ross

Hi Janie:
Please see my profile (under “Read more about imagepix” and “Let’s collaborate:”) for how I am handling this problem. Merely posting a copyright notice or disclaimer, as I have done, won’t always deter a would-be image thief, but it is a legal copyright notice and would probably help any claim you might make in legal action. Please note the extra language that spells out prohibiting use of a photograph as the basis for another image. There have been a rash of illegal copying and altering of photographs to make another image…and photographs being used by artists to paint from or overpainting.
The only other solution would be to imbed elaborate watermarks in each of your posted images, which still won’t stop some people. Good luck!
Aren’t Cheetahs the most beautiful and graceful of the big cats? I liked the shot of your two! Hey maybe we’ll pass in an airport waiting room or a Tanzanian back road, some day. Stay safe... and happy shooting!
Allbest, Ben (imagepix)

Hi Ross: Thank you for looking into Janie's concerns about copyrighting our photographs. Please see my reply to her for my (temporary?) solution. It is a big concern for those of us who earn our meager living from travel photography. Again, thanks. Ben (imagepix)
