I'm planning on travelling up the river amazon from Brazil and into Peru. So far all I've got planned is to pass through Iquitos and from there take a trip into the national park, Pacaya-Samiria. I'd love to actually get into some jungly bits or go on a canoa ride.
Anyone got any advise. Or remember the word in English for canoa?
It is a lot of fun that river ride. Spend a few days in Iquitos, pretty interesting city, and work out where to go from there. My journey from Manaus to the tri frontier took longer than expected back in 2001 due to someone drowning. But aside from the macabre it was a journey to remember.
