I'm doing a paper on the kinds of travel documents that are produced from travel. I'm not going into blogs or forums ect because I'm doing this for archival studies and getting into how to archive the internet is a whole other kettle of fish I am not getting into. But if anybody can think of anything that has been written on the various kinds of travel docs like travel journals/diaries, photographs, postcards, letters ect, that would very helpful. I have several books and articles but I figured it would not hurt to try the people here!
I'm not sure whether you're looking for scholarly material, but a classic in this field of studies is Mary Louise Pratt's "Imperial Eyes: Travel Writing and Transculturation." Published by Routledge.
