Hi guys

I'm working on an article about Gaudi and his impact on Barcelona. I've been there and will be injecting some personal anecdotes.

I would like to get first hand accounts and answers to the following questions from residents who live in Barcelona:

- How do the locals perceive Gaudi's influence? With indifference? With pride?
- What do the locals think of the tourist influx to see his works? Overrated? Important?
- What are your own opinions about him?

I will definitely cite you in the article.
Thanks

Although you posted this a while back, since I'm from Barcelona I'll give you my 2 cents: I would say that most people appreciate Gaudí and are proud of his works, but in the last 5 years or so I've been seeing a lot of letters to the editors complaining mostly about the massive influx of budget tourists (Ryanair, etc), who have turned the city into one big stag party, drinking and partying everywhere even during the night, making noise and leaving trash everywhere. I was recently in Park Güell with a friend who was visiting, and can confirm it: there was a group of 10 or so Brits drinking cans of the cheapest beer on the bench and a few minutes later they left leaving all the cans and plastic bags behind.

Thanks for providing feedback. Was curious about what native Barcelonans thought. Even though I've wrapped up the article, I might be able to work this in.
