Position Summary: Riverside Community Care's Head Injury Program is looking for residential counselors who are interested in doing work that can make a difference. Even if you have never worked with persons with head injuries, but are interested in learning, we would like to hear from you. In addition to providing you with on-site supervision, you will be learning from your peers. Riverside offers an excellent training program where you can attend workshops to help you learn the skills that you need and to advance in the human services field. The residential counselor works as part of a team to provide direct supports, guidance, education, advocacy and supervision to persons with head injuries. The residential counselor helps individuals live safely in the community, maintain their physical and emotional health, foster relationships with housemates, family, guardians, and the community and develop the skills necessary to increase the individual's independence. Interaction between staff and individuals will reflect an appreciation of each individual's uniqueness. Become a Team Member and increase your experience through training and supervision. Increase your understanding of clinical issues by working with a Behavioral Psychologist consultant. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in psychology or related field preferred but not required. Related experience in a residential setting and experience with behavior plans preferred. Excellent written and Verbal Communication Skills. Valid driver's license required.
