Contribute to Matador Last updated June 9, 2008 Welcome to our community! Inspired to share your own story? Contributing to Matador can take place in several ways. 1. Write a Blog. Matador's blogs are the heart of our community and where you'll find some of the timeliest and most important writing anywhere in print or on the web. We encourage all members to blog as much as they can. Tell us what the view is like out your window. What is happening in your local town, forests, mountains, rivers, community? If you don't write those stories, who will? 2. Write for one of the blogs in the Matador Network. The Matador Network includes 8 interconnected sites that publish new articles daily. We provide a running list of content we're actively seeking for the network at our Matador Bounty Board. You can keep up with the latest assignments by subscribing to the Bounty Board Feed. We also accept your original pitches and queries for stories in the network. Again, subscribing is the best way to keep up with the latest articles we're running and to familiarize yourself with the stories and topics we're covering. 3. Write a Traverse feature story. Every two weeks we publish a roundup of the best stories from the Network in a newsletter called Traverse. Usually we'll lead each Traverse with a special travel narrative, interview, or profile. Examples of these can be found here. Please note that submissions of original narratives to Traverse are competitive. You're strongly encouraged to first establish yourself in the community through your blogs, photography, forum posts, and published articles in the network, before submitting a feature story for consideration at Traverse. Finally, please thoroughly read the Writer FAQs page before writing or submitting anything to us, and please note that all submissions are received on-spec. Matador does not guarantee publication of any submissions. We look forward to hearing your stories, and sharing them with the world! The Matador Editorial Team |
