DAYCARE CENTRE FOR THE OLD AGED WOMEN

UNITY CHARITABLE TRUST, striving hard for the upliftment of the deserted and depressed women and children invites volunteers to put their services in the DAY CARE CENTRE FOR THE OLD AGED in Virudhunagar, Tamilnadu, India. This centre has been started to cater to atleast one time meal for the inmates, who are very poor and old aged having no sources of income to meet their basic needs of three times meals. Atleast, we can provide lunch to them and in the centre they are doing their easy works of match box pasting, they are familiar with this work and other works suchas baskets made out of plastic wires. Medical care is given to the elders weekly once by the visiting doctors. As a volunteer, you can serve them food during lunch time, helping them during their small work. In addition to the above work, you will also be engaged in serving the very old aged and bedridden people in their houses with out proper care and food. As a volunteer, you can feed them, helping them to dress and timely intake of medicines. THE HIGHLIGHT OF OUR VOLUNTEERING PLACEMENT IS THAT THE VOLUNTEERS FROM ABROAD WILL BE TAUGHT YOGA IN OUR SCHOOL FOR ONE HOUR OR MORE We are running this centre without any financial assistance. Hence, volunteers are requested to pay for their stay charges which include three times homely food with packaged drinking water, neat accommodation with western type bath rooms and pickup charges from the MADURAI airport. The volunteers are put up in the upstairs of our school building with the above amenities. Phone and broadband internet facilities are available to the volunteers on payment basis.
